Neshanic Station, NJ, May 15, 2024 — Magneton Inc., which specializes in commercializing advanced III-V optoelectronic technologies, announces a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award from the Office of The Secretary of Defense to fund to development of a single-photon avalanche detector (SPAD) for mm-accurate multi-kHz satellite and lunar laser ranging at 1030 nm.
The Phase I technical package will encompass the design of a gated, Geiger-mode single photon avalanche diode detection head and signal conditioning electronics, including quenching circuit and time-walk compensation logic.
This technology will provide satellite and lunar ranging stations capabilities for ranging at infrared wavelengths enabling daytime ranging capabilities and enhanced performance.
